After a quick little re-vamp of the showroom last week, we’ve got some really great new things we want to show you! New art, some new lamps, new upholstery and casegoods, new bedding… Take a look and see if anything strikes your fancy!
This last picture is probably the portion of the recent update that we are the craziest about! The art, the lamps, and the accessories could not be prettier!!
In an upcoming issue of the fabulous magazine Social South, one of designer Elizabeth Gullett’s projects will be featured! It was photographed over the weekend in Santa Rosa Beach by the talented Allison Muirhead. The home is filled with natural light, blues and whites, linens and other soft fabrics, and just a relaxed yet elegant feel.
It’s going to be a beautiful spread, so keep your eyes peeled!
Designer Todd Prince and his lovely assistant Tina had quite a busy week last week! They had two major installs, both of which we’re excited to tell you about! One was interior and one was exterior, so today we’re sharing the exterior one! With the lovely weather we had over the weekend, it just seems appropriate to keep up the spirit of outdoor entertaining…
This beautiful outdoor oasis is open, breezy, and (of course) weather proof! Todd picked all of the furniture from a couple of our favorite outdoor lines: Lee Industries and Summer Classics. It all blends together so perfectly!
All of the custom detail (like the custom banding on the bottom of the dining chairs, and the specially made drapery hardware) make this space interesting and personal as well as beautiful.
Gorgeous outdoor fabrics from Perennials (notice the contrast fabrics on the white arm chairs!), Nomi, Donghia, and Dedar add just the perfect amount of color and texture…
After a hard day’s work, these clients were ready to throw an amazing outdoor soiree!
And we’re looking for another interior designer!
Because of the growth SummerHouse has experienced, we find ourselves in need of a bigger staff!
We are currently looking to hire an interior designer. Please email email@example.com
if you are interested and we will give you more details about the position.
A BIG THANK YOU
for helping us grow into the business we are today! Because of you, we have a bright future ahead and we
look forward to serving your design needs in the months and years to come!
Our very own Elizabeth Gullett was featured in the latest issue of Delta Magazine! This tranquil retreat out in Brandon has a very beachy feel, specifically designed by Elizabeth to compliment the home’s location on the water! When we went out for this shoot, we really did feel like we were on vacation when really we were only minutes from home!
You may remember seeing a few behind-the-scenes shots inthis blog post from a few weeks back.
Now, we give you… The actual spread!
Be sure to go out and grab a copy of this month’s Delta Magazine so you can read the full story!
That’s all we can say about how GORGEOUS the showroom looks right now!
It has seriously never looked better. Marty is so good!
You’re invited to come see the showroom in all it’s beauty for yourself in an extra fun atmosphere tomorrow night at our Barry Dixon event! Here’s what you have to look forward to… (Disclaimer: LOTS of gorgeousness lies ahead in the following photos!)
Tomorrow night is going to be a blast– we hope to see you out! 🙂
The big Barry Dixon event is THIS Thursday! Only two days away!
We are so excited to host this one-of-a-kind event alongside Arteriors for such a design celebrity as Barry Dixon!
Not only is Barry extremely talented, but he is genuinely one of the nicest people we’ve had the pleasure of getting to know!
We know you’re going to really enjoy talking with him and hearing him share about his design adventures.
In case you haven’t heard, Barry is an Ole Miss graduate, so he is calling this event a homecoming of sorts!
He loves his Mississippi friends and has had some really kind words to say about us Mississippians
(and our homes!) 🙂
“Perhaps the greatest quality a home might possess is that of innate, soulful hospitality,” Barry says. “The South, Mississippi in particular, literally oozes this cardinal quality, and her children take it with them wherever they go…”
Come meet Barry on Thursday night from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. over a bite to eat (prepared by James Beard Award winning Chef Derek Emerson of Walker’s and Local 463!) and a Mason Dixon signature cocktail! Raphael Semmes and his trio will also be here providing some groovy tunes to set the mood for the affair!
We look forward to seeing you! Bring your friends!
The Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams Special Order Event is still going on!
Don’t worry… You haven’t missed out! BUT, it won’t be going on for much longer so make your way up to SummerHouse and get 20% off almost all MGBW special orders while the deal still stands!
Here are a few lovely Mitchell Gold pieces we have on the floor to get your creative juices flowing!

If you see a style you like, but don’t like the fabric/leather it’s in, no worries! That’s the beauty of a special order! We have hundreds of leathers and fabrics so you can customize a piece to your personal specifications.
Hurry in while these great savings are still available (which won’t be much longer!) See you soon!
Do you remember us talking about “The Cabin” a couple of times before? Well, we’ve moved onto the next phase of this beautiful project of Lisa’s and wanted to share the progress with you!
You’ve seen a few snapshots of fabrics and other selections in the older posts about this project, but now that actual walls are up and things are really starting to take shape, we’re all getting really excited about the finished product!
Reclaimed wood, gorgeous carpentry, great stains and other selections, and just great overall design make this place ultra cozy, even if it is only halfway done!
We even ran into some sweet little pups on the way back from The Cabin!
We had to stop and take pictures… They were just too adorable!
We will continue to keep you updated on this project as things progress! We cannot wait to show you the finished product!
We hope y’all had a stellar weekend!
To brighten your day a little bit, we’ll go ahead and show you Part Two of our most recent showroom update! (In case you missedPart Oneon Friday, take a peek real quick!)
Don’t forget that the Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams Special Order Event is going on right now, and to go alongside that, Lisa has marked down a lot of what is on the showroom floor! So come see us, sooner rather than later (before the sale is over!)
Meet one of the newest members of our ever-growing SummerHouse family!
Jaclyn Petty, our outstanding part-time Fabric Librarian, answers a few questions for us so we can get to know her just a little better!
Q:In a nutshell, tell us what you do up here at SummerHouse! A: I am the Fabric Organizer/Librarian! In a nutshell, I maintain the fabric library by organizing samples and reference materials, adding new information as needed, and deleting dated info.
Q:Where did you to go college and what did you major in? A: I graduated from Mississippi State University in May 2012 with a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts with an emphasis in Graphic Design.
Q:What’s your favorite spring trend this year? A: All the new spring colors and patterns. Bright florals and polka dots are so adorable.
Q: What’s your favorite movie these days? A: Oooh My favorite recent movie would have to be Life of Pi. It was such a great book and the movie was just unforgettable. The 227 days at sea are a test of physique, mental adaptation and faith, and Suraj Sharma makes Pi’s spiritual journey as convincing as his nautical one. So beautiful!
Q: If you could choose one artist to listen to 24/7, who would it be? A: Beyonce, of course
Q:What’s your favorite way to enjoy caffeine? A: Coffee! Isn’t that the only way?
Q: Got any fun trips planned for the summer? A: I actually recently bought Beyonce tickets for her concert in July. You have no idea how excited I am!
Q: What else do we need to know about you?! Spill it!! A: I love painting in my spare time. Abstract landscapes is one of my favorite things to paint!
Thank you, Jaclyn, for coming in every day and tackling the sometimes-daunting (actually, often-daunting!) resource library with a smile on your face! We love having you up here!
Lisa and Elish have a beautiful ongoing project with a very dear client who lives in a fantastic Fondren home, and the master bedroom in this home has recently been completed!
Lisa on this bedroom:
“When I first met with my client, the first thing I noticed about this room was that the original furnishings were out of scale. The bed was too small for the space, the side tables were too small, and the rug was too small. So my challenge was to make sure that the pieces I selected would fit in this very large room with large walls and tall ceilings.”
“My client wanted a sitting area where they could watch television, but they also wanted to be able to watch television from their bed, so I had that challenge too.”
“The client wanted the bedroom to be a “home away from home.” My design approach was to make it light and airy and soft so I chose fabrics that were a mixture of natural linen, velvet, and even a washable velvet on the swivel chairs and ottoman in the sitting area. When you’re going white on upholstery, that kind of thing is important!”
“There’s a lot of custom work in this space as well. The bed, the etagere, the desk, and the side tables were all custom made. In fact, the desk was touched by four different artisans!”
“There was some renovation in the space as well. We changed an old, low cased archway by raising it and adding old beams. We redesigned the fireplace, mantle, and stonework to give it a fresh look. And we repainted all the walls.”
“The room is now updated, bright, and I think really beautiful.”
This is what we call a MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! What is your favorite aspect of this space?
This has never happened before! Marty has released a photo of our Back Door Sale ahead of time! She NEVER does this!! 🙂
