Check out this beautiful master bedroom/bathroom that Lisa designed for one of our favorite clients. The warm browns with the little bursts of color make this space comfortable, masculine, livable, and totally envy-worthy! 🙂 What do YOU love most about this space?
The designs on these pillows are actually from a couple Lynn Green Root paintings that Lisa commissioned specifically for this client. She then had the custom designs embroidered onto pillows.
See the paintings on the right in the picture above? Those are the aforementioned Lynn Green Root pieces!
As always, Rachel Kabukala did a great job on photographing! Check out the guest rooms and outdoor area of this same home! If you can’t tell, we’re in love with this house… 🙂
Remember the beautiful home we showed you pictures of on Friday? (It is the blog post right before this one.) Well, here is the upstairs guest area of the house. It is fun, bright, colorful, and best of all, designed by Lisa Palmer!
This particular client fell in love with the bright green velvet of the Earl Chair, so the room was designed around that chair, as well as the items that this client already had. The bedding is by the oh-so-fabulous Ann Gish.
From one side of the jack-and-jill bathroom to the other… The art, the paint colors, and the beautiful tile countertops make these bathrooms very happy and welcoming!
If this room doesn’t make you happy then… Well…. It should!
We will have more from this beautiful home later this week. Rachel Kabukala took so many fabulous photos that it’s impossible to get them all into just one or two posts! Stay tuned!
Remember the behind the scenes pictures we posted earlier this week of Rachel Kabukala in action at our Eastbrooke client’s home? (You can see them here if you missed them.) Anyway, here are our favorite photos of this condo’s living room… We’ll show you more rooms next week! This is just a little teaser to get your weekend started off right! Enjoy!
If these pictures don’t make you happy, then…. We need to talk! Have a great, safe weekend and we’ll see you back next week!
Y’all have seen this house before. It is our most dramatic Before and Afters to date (which you can see here) and the customer holds an extra special place in our hearts! Rachel Kabukala, who has sort of become our house photographer!, was over there taking pictures the other day. We can’t wait to show you the finished products! Until that time, here are a few behind the scenes shots…
This house is so beautiful, and the colors make it so photogenic! We’ll post the finished pictures as soon as we can! Have a fabulous Wednesday!
GET EXCITED! Our Summer Sale is going on now! Up to 40% off of TONS of things in our beautiful showroom! Come in today, buy it today, take it home today! (Or have it delivered in the next few days!) We’ve got some incredible deals that you need to come in and see with your own eyes… Us telling you about these deals is not good enough!
Ann Gish recently sent Lisa an email with pictures of her new Manhattan showroom. Ann said this project was a MAJOR undertaking, but is so happy with how it all turned out! The 4,000 square foot showroom displays Ann’s beautiful bedding as well as her bright and happy personality!
Gorgeous, right? We love selling Ann Gish because her product is always so beautiful and high quality. Come in and see us if you’re interested in sprucing up a bedroom!
Black and white is quite possibly the most timeless color combo of all time. In middle school art class, many of us learned that black is the absence of all color, and white is the presence of all color. They always say “opposites attract,” so that must be why this combination has so perfectly stood the test of time! Here are some rooms featuring the two tones that we find so captivating… Take a peek.
This holiday always makes us think about the beach. The beach makes us think about beautiful beach houses. Beach houses are usually light, bright, and airy. Here are a few of our favorite light, bright spaces from over at Rue Magazine.
We hope you all have had a fabulous Memorial Day weekend!
We recently receievd our market order from Legacy Bedding, and it is GOR-GEOUS! We are in love with every piece of it! We have several beds on the showroom floor made up with these heavenly threads and everyone that comes in oohs and aahs over how breathtaking they are! Here–you can see what we’re talking about!
Have you been by the store to meet Elish yet? She is Lisa’s amazing new assistant!! (Laurel is starting a new chapter and is no longer a full-timer at the store, but is still doing all of the social media, so she’s still around!)
Elish is a great addition to the SummerHouse team and is fitting right in! 🙂 Her organization skills, eye for fashion (both in interiors and in wearable fashion), and her cute personality make her a joy to work with! Let’s get to know her a little better, shall we?
SummerHouse: So your name is kinda different but super pretty!! Can you tell us a little bit about the origination of that?
Elish: My name….my mom’s family is Italian and Elizabeth is the trademark family name that gets worked in somehow on every girl’s name. My Dad is Irish, so they compromised and named me Elish which is gaelic for Elizabeth. Hence, the odd name.
SummerHouse: What has been the biggest shock about your new job at SummerHouse?! You’ve only been here a few weeks, but there has to be something that surprised you or caught you offguard!
Elish: I think my biggest shock at Summerhouse was how much of the business side of Interior Design I’d be doing…
SummerHouse: What is your favorite thing to cook and why?
Elish: My favorite thing to cook is either my chicken pesto salad because I made it up and it’s pretty different from traditional chicken salad. Or I love cooking crawfish fettuccine…I have a great recipe that isn’t too hard but tastes great!
SummerHouse: What is your favorite movie? Why?
Elish: Hmmm favorite movie is a tough one…I’d say Wild Hearts Can’t Be Broken because I grew up watching it and I’m a sucker for those kinds of movies. Or Last of the Mohicans…I always watch it with my dad and the music is incredible.
SummerHouse: How would you describe your own personal design style?
Elish: My personal design style is better described by the designers I respect…in fashion, as well as interior design. I love Alberta Ferretti, Kelly Wearstler, Zac Posen, Elizabeth & James, Robert Kuo… I’m usually drawn to clean lines broken up by rich textiles, any type of sleek surface like mirrors and metallic finishes, & cool colors or grayed neutrals.
SummerHouse: When you are not partaking in your new favorite hobby, which is to work at SummerHouse, what are your other hobbies?!
Elish: Well I love running and being outside so that’s a pretty big hobby, I love to cook and have people over for dinner, & I have 4 nephews and a brand new little niece that I love to visit! 🙂
SummerHouse: Tell us one weird thing about you that we may find interesting, or that not many people know
Elish: One weird thing? So hard to choose….haha Well I am an OCD bed maker. It’s weird. I make mine every morning no matter what. Even if I know I’m going to wash my sheets that night. And I sometimes can’t help myself and make other peoples beds…It makes the whole room look instantly put together!
SummerHouse: Anything else you want us to know?! 🙂
Elish: I love working at Summerhouse and I’m thankful I have so many amazing, sweet people to be around everyday!
Have you seen the most recent issue of Delta Magazine?! It just hit stands last week and we are loving it! We particularly love the post entitled “The Coolest Media Room on Earth! OMG!” One of our favorite families, the Blanchard family, showed off their amazing media and exercise room. It truly is one of the coolest we’ve ever seen! Lisa did a great job of making the space modern, yet liveable, don’t you think?
What is your favorite part about this room? We love the color, the huge Dr. Pitt sectional (by Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams), the Kelly Wearstler inspired bookshelf, all the Adler, the big lacquer mirrors in the exercise area…. Really, there is nothing about this room that we don’t love!
Be sure to pick up your copy of the May/June issue of Delta at pretty much any bookstore around here! It’s a great issue!
We are FINALLY getting a blog post up about this! We are just now recovered from all the fun we had! If you were here, you know what we’re talking about! DJ Young Venom played some pretty awesome tunes to set the backdrop for the evening. VIP Catering, Soulshine, and Hey Cupcake showed us their stuff with the wonderful food they provided, and Vintage Wine Market was able to give some education in Wine 101. We learned all about the whites: sweet vs. dry, bubbly vs. non-bubbly, what is good with spicy food and what is good with sweet food…. We could go on and on with all of our newfound knowledge!
In addition to the fabulous DJ, the amazing wine, and the to-die-for food, we had quite the stylish photo booth! Here are a few of our favorite staff pictures from “inside the booth:”
We would like to thank all of the wonderful businesses that contributed to our swag bags! All of our VIP’s enjoyed sifting through their prizes to see what local swag they would be walking away with! We had items from Millie D’s Yogurt Shop, Fusion Coffeehouse, Body Anew Medical Spa, Kinkade’s Fine Clothing, CoatTails, Broadstreet Baking Company, Metropolitan Bank, Crawford Eye Care, Jackson Free Press (of course), SummerHouse (of course, of course…), and several others! We think our VIP’s were well pleased! Here’s the proof 🙂
They seem pretty elated with their bags, don’t you think?!
Lastly, but certainly not least, we would like to thank Anne Taylor Duease for coming out and showcasing all of her beautiful Adonis jewelry. A few of us walked away with some brand new bling, and we’re so excited about it! Anne Taylor is so much fun to hang out with– we love when she gets to come around!!
SHOP LOCAL SOCIAL was such a great success, that we are talking about doing it more often! Maybe quarterly, maybe twice a year…. What do you think we should do?! We wanted to give one more “thank you” to Jackson Free Press for all the hard work they put into this event– it would not have happened without you guys!! We look forward to next time! 🙂
With St. Patrick’s Day quickly approaching, we wanted to share our favorite green-themed cocktail with you! Who doesn’t love a good mint mojito? This recipe will have others green with envy because you have the best drink in the group! Hey, maybe if they offer you a little green, you could make one for them?!
We are so excited to have recently been published in Portico Jackson Magazine! You may remember this room from a Behind the Scenes post we shared a few weeks ago! We hope to get this amazing recognition added to our website soon (after we get better images, of course!) We hope you have as much fun looking at this room as we had creating it! Enjoy…
As one of our designers was flipping through fabrics this morning, she ran across a CUTE fabric that many of us had somehow never seen! In researching to find what other colorways this particular fabric came in, we discovered a whole line of super fun, bright fabrics that just made our Monday! The designer is Amanda Nisbet and her line is called AND (Amanda Nisbet Designs) What do you think?!
Our FOR THE LOVE OF ART event was last night and we had so much fun! We had an amazing turnout! Lots of beautiful art, delicious food, live portrait sketches by artist Dyann Gunter, and great company all made for a good time. The cherry on top of the evening was the fact that it was benefitting CARA, the largest no kill animal shelter in Mississippi. They rely solely on donations, so we were excited to have the opportunity to do something to help them. Here are a few snapshots from the evening.
Thanks to all who came out last night. As you can see, we had a ball! And thanks to all of our amazing artists who were willing to participate and give to CARA! Dyann Gunter, Lauren Barksdale Hill, Anne Taylor Duease, Jean Seymour, and Kathryn Morris Trotter all deserve a huge round of applause!
If you would like more information about CARA, visit their website for the latest updates!
Stay tuned for information on our upcoming events… 🙂
