We are getting VERY excited about our upcoming Lee Loves Local event next Saturday, February 11th! One of the aspects we are most excited about is the food and drink! We’ll give you a taste of what we have in store, but you’ll definitely have to be here on the big day to fully enjoy!
As far as beverages, we will have bartenders from The Manship (which has an award-winning bar) to mix up a couple of their most popular daytime cocktails! Cathead Vodka is providing us with some of their locally distilled vodka and gin to keep things extra “Mississippi!” Also to be made with Cathead Vodka are the Bloody Marys, which will feature Debutante Farmer’s Bloody Mary Mix! We are pumped about this! Lucky Town Brewery is also going to have some local brews as part of the bar.
One of our most beloved neighbors, Fusion Coffeehouse, will have a setup with coffee and hot chocolate, should there be a need for a little extra warmth (or caffeine!), so we will have something for everyone!
Lurny D’s Grille, a burger food truck which a few of our staff members are particularly fond of, will be here keeping our tummies from rumbling! In addition to burgers, Chef Jeremy Enfinger from County Seat in Livingston is planning to prepare some lighter bites for throughout-the-day grazing! We will let the details on those light bites be a surprise, but we can tell you this: It’s gonna be good.
We are so fortunate to have such wonderful food and drink right here in the Jackson area. One thing we hear often from out-of-towners is how spectacular our local food scene is! And we have to agree. We live in a gold mine of exciting food and drink!
As the cherry on top of all of the above good news… The bar drinks will be served from The Karovan Bar! This is the cutest little bar you ever did see! It’s the prettiest white and natural wood trailer that was made (literally) for events like this! We are thrilled to have them as part of the goings on. 🙂
Stay tuned for more information on our panel coming next week! This panel discussion is one you will not want to miss!
Thanks so much for dropping by today. We can’t wait to see you on February 11th!
We are THRILLED be get to host this year’s Lee Loves Local event put on by Lee Industries and Traditional Home Magazine!
You are invited to join us for the day of local celebration!
Every year, this event is held in a different city somewhere in the U.S., and the host shop pulls together their favorite of the indy local scene. We are pretty pumped about the lineup that we have to share with you guys.
Hydration for the day will be provided by Fusion Coffeehouse, Cathead Vodka, Debutante Farmer Bloody Mary Mix, Lucky Town Brewery, and bar talent from The Manship. The Karovan Bar will be where the loaded drinks are served!
As far as food, Chef Jeremy Enfinger will have some little bits of southern goodness available to all of our guests. And Lurny D’s food truck will be set up right outside!
We’ll have some live jazz music to keep spirits high all day long!
Author Julia Reed will be in the shop signing copies of her newest cookbook Julia Reed’s South! Julia will also be joined by our very own Lisa Palmer and Shaun Smith, a designer who currently resides in New Orleans but is originally from Madison, for a panel discussion moderated by Traditional Home’s Senior Style Editor Krissa Rossbund! This should be really, really fun!
The first 30 people who join us for the panel discussion get some pretty incredible swag bags, courtesy of our hosts and market vendors!
Speaking of market vendors… Here’s who will have booths set up just outside in our makers market! We are pumped about all of these small businesses representing at our event!
See? Awesome list! AND, this event is benefitting MADCAAP, one of our favorite local organizations! Stay tuned for more about that! 🙂
We can’t wait to share more about all of the fabulous businesses participating as the event gets closer and closer! Stay tuned! 🙂 And thank you for stopping by today! Be sure to save the date! 🙂 It’ll be some big time fun!

As many of you know, Lisa has been selected to participate in the Rathbuns’ Watch List Event, which is part of the Atlanta Food and Wine Festival! She has been paired with chef John Lasater of Nashville’s Hattie B’s restaurant and together they are working on an incredible modern southern experience!
We asked Lisa about being paired with Chef Lasater and she emphasized the influence the South has had on both her design aesthetic and his culinary style. She is hoping that the fusion of his and her modern southern styles in two different areas of art, so to speak, “will make people feel relaxed but intrigued.”
We love the selections Lisa has made so far for their space. The colors, the one of a kind pieces… This is going to be so good! Here’s a sneak peek at the rendering and some of the design elements!
Isn’t that chartreuse divine?! We are in love.
We’ll have more photos from the actual space once the event has taken place! Can’t wait to show you… Stay tuned!
We are thrilled to announce that interior designer Barbara Westbrook will be at SummerHouse signing her brand new book Gracious Rooms on September 17th from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.!
Barbara is extremely talented, so we look forward to picking her design brain while she’s here! 😉
Lisa says, “Barbara has a very unique take on Southern style which I relate to. She mixes modern with antique furnishings beautifully. What I love about her is that she designs for her client. And that is something that we stress at SummerHouse emphatically. We are over the moon that Barbara decided to make a stop here at SummerHouse on her book tour. We are honored and look forward to having her here!”
Stay tuned as we share more of Barbara’s beautiful work and a little bit more about her in the coming weeks!
We hope you’ll make plans to be here and help us welcome her to Mississippi!
We’ve been talking a lot lately about how much we adore Suzanne Kasler. The showroom has a lot of Suzanne-inspired vignettes and, of course, lots of her books!! We are SO excited to have her here tomorrow night!!!
The conversation turned to her line for Hickory Chair, which got us to talking about our favorite pieces from that collection!
Want to know what some of those pieces are?!
Elish says her favorite piece is the Dalton Library Table.
“It just has such presence. I adore it.”
Mary Courtney loves the Virginia Skirted Chair.
“The crisp tailoring and delicate details are killer!”
Sunny adores the Ansley chair.
“It’s the perfect little slipper chair. It can fit in almost any space due to its petite size, and it’s super comfy for an armless chair. It’s to die for in leather!!”
Katy’s favorite is the Choate Dining Table.
“The elegant shape and beautiful details of this table make this one of my favorite pieces!”
Do you have a favorite piece from Suzanne’s Hickory Chair collection? You can see it all here!
We hope to see you tomorrow night for an evening of bubbles, bites, and great design!

Well, we had fun with Lee Loves Local week last week!! Particularly at our little party on Thursday evening! Here’s a quick little pictoral recap of the event, which was complete with Valentine-y accents!
Thanks, RestyleSource, Lee Industries, and Shalla Wista for supporting us in this event! We hope all of you had a fabulous weekend! Stay tuned this week for a little interview with a new staff member, excitement surrounding the web store, plus more!!
It’s officially Lee Loves Local week, where Lee Industries dealers all over the country are celebrating local love by hosting parties and events all throughout the week! And we’re excited to be a part!
Our event was originally scheduled for tomorrow, but with the crazy weather that’s expected to hit our area tonight and tomorrow, we decided to push things back to THURSDAY (which is supposed to be a beautiful day!)
So please join us this Thursday for our Shalla Wista trunk show, 20% off all in-stock Lee furniture THURSDAY ONLY, and some bubbles and bites from 5 until 7!
We can’t wait to see all of you! As always, thanks for supporting local by shopping with us! 🙂 We appreciate all of you SO much!
We’re so excited about our Lee Loves Local event, which is set for Tuesday February 11th! On that day from 10 until 7, we’ll be hosting a Shalla Wista trunk show! If you’re not familiar with Shalla Wista, then you certainly need to make plants to be here on the 11th! This line of jewelry is simply stunning… PERFECT for Valentine’s Day presents!
Each piece is handmade by Birmingham based designer Laura Gaines or a member of her small team of artisans. We are honored to have her collection represented at SummerHouse!
How gorgeous is all of this? This is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to what Shalla Wista has to offer! Be sure to make plans to stop by next Tuesday to see all of this (and more) with your own eyes!
We’ll also have happy hour from 5 until 7 with some special local bubbles and bites! Stay tuned for more information about that aspect of our event in the coming days!
A huge thank you to Lee Industries and Restyle Source for making Lee Loves Local week happen. We’re so grateful to be a part of such a wonderful national event! 🙂
If you’ve been to the showroom lately, you’ve probably noticed the little sale we have going on right now! Lisa has gone through the inventory we have on the showroom floor and has discounted quite a few items!
Next time you’re in, just look for the sale tags tied onto the regular tags with GREEN raffia. That’s the signal that those items are discounted– Some up to 40% off! (We told you this would brighten your day!) 🙂
A few of the many items that have been marked down are these Josette Chairs and the Josette Sofa! We love this bright little grouping! (And the prices are so good, several of our staff have threatened to take all of this home themselves!)
Josette is pretty cute, isn’t she? Come visit and see what else has had the price reduced! We think you’ll find something you like! 😉
And DON’T FORGET about the Lauren Lachance Trunk Show / Sample Sale tomorrow from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m! It’s going to be FUN!
Tonight is Fondren Unwrapped! We hope you’ll take a minute to stop by our booths at Interiors Market and have a look around! We have some beautiful Christmas items for your home, some incredible gifts, and of course, some fab furniture! Plus, a few of our designers will be there hanging out, and they would love to meet you if they haven’t already!!
Once you enter Interiors Market, our booths are the first two you’ll come to when you take a right!
Hope to see you out tonight!
As Lauren Lachance week continues here on the blog, we grow more and more excited about the event tomorrow! We sure do hope you can join us at some point throughout the day!
Today we want to share a beautifully grouped collection of Lachance pressings that designer Todd Prince used in a fairly recent project (which you can see more of here!) Don’t they make such a statement!? Todd did a great job of selecting these!
Lauren also sent us a few more photos of more of their work to continue building our excitement!!
These leaves are 40″ x 60″!
And this triptych went to Holly Hunt in Chicago, a designer we all adore!
For more info on The Lauren Lachance Trunk Show, check this out. And feel free to RSVP! 🙂
If you’re interested in the work of Lauren Lachance, but The Township in Ridgeland isn’t on your beaten path, drop into our booth at Interiors Market in Fondren and take a look at the pieces hanging in there! There are several beautiful, fallish pressed leaves adorning our newly updated booth, which Marty did an amazing job on!
If you like what you see, then join us THIS Thursday (10/10) as Lauren and her husband Eduardo join us along with over 200 pressings, ranging from small to HUGE!
And while you’re at Interiors Market, take a look around the rest of our booth as well! It’s looking mighty beautiful!
For more info about the ALL DAY event on Thursday, click here!
It’s officially Lauren Lachance week at SummerHouse! Our big trunk show event with her is all day on Thursday (10/10), so we’re devoting one post a day to her work from now until Thursday!
Today we’re talking about pieces from The Lauren Lachance Collection that have been featured in the press! Although there are many instances of her work appearing in nationally published projects, we just picked a couple of our favorites. We love how these pressed botanicals work in both modern and traditional settings!
The partictular grouping below are four 26″ x 34″ pressed leaves in their signature French Gray frame. Ann Holden, a New Orleans interior designer got these from Lachance through Geri Bremmerman, who owns a shop on Magazine Street in New Orleans!

The pressings in this photo are all 20″ x 28″ cream hydrangeas for Phoebe Howard’s grand opening of her Charlotte, NC showroom. This photo is also featured in her book, The Joy of Decorating!

The pressed pieces also mix beautifully with other art. The versatility is amazing! We think you’ll be impressed to see the botanicals hanging in our showroom amongst our other art. It’s going to be beautiful!
Looking forward to seeing you (and your friends!) on Thursday!
RSVP by clicking here if you like!
