What’s on our web store wish list today? We’re feeling the love of nature with falling temps and beautiful colors outside, so today, we’re going all natural with pieces inspired by the flora and fauna of the great outdoors. Get details on all of these naturally inspired pieces below!
Happy Friday everyone! We’re so excited that the weekend is in sight! 🙂 To brighten your day, we give you… SOME FRIDAY EYE CANDY! We ran a quick little report and found YOUR favorite of our Instagram posts! Want to see the top five? Here they are…
Last night was the Preview Gala, the event’s kick off party, which took place at the Mississippi Trademart in downtown Jackson. Several of our staff members attended (looking wonderful, everyone!) and they all said it was the fun-filled winter wonderland they’d hoped it would be! 😉
This year we had the opportunity to do a Designer Bay, which always turns out to be a fun (yet challenging) project! This year, we went with a black and white color story, popping in some pretty fuschia! Our lovely photographer Anna got some great shots of the space! We love how it turned out!
What do you think?!
We hope you all have a chance to attend Mistletoe this year! Be sure to stop in and see us here at the store before or after your trip downtown! 🙂
The furniture for this fantastic weekend getaway has started rolling in, so a good bit of it has been delivered! Lisa hasn’t finalized furniture placement and hasn’t accessorized yet, so there is still a lot to look forward to!! But here are a few quick shots of how the place is looking!
Here’s a close up of the floors… The stain turned out BEAUTIFULLY!
Our next status report will probably be of a fully done cabin, so stay tuned! We can’t wait!
After a quick update, the showroom is looking smashing!
Marty made a trip to Atlanta a couple of weeks ago, not only for market, but for a little antique shopping! Some of her purchases have started rolling in, and we now have several amazing one-of-a-kind pieces amongst our mix of furnishings and accessories. The unique antiques add a beautiful rustic element to the floor.
Should you have any questions about anything you see, give us a call, or just stop in!
Designer Elizabeth Gullet has been published (again!) This time, she’s in Social South magazine, which all of us just adore! This particular home is in Florida’s Santa Rosa Beach and it is, as Elizabeth and her clients say, “non-beachy beachy.”
The subtle coastal hints are soft, soothing, and perfectly relaxing. Take a look!
(AND, take note that this space is also on the COVER of the magazine!)
And here’s our happy designer with her design! 🙂
Great work, Elizabeth! 🙂 Can’t wait to see the next one!
Designer Todd Prince and his lovely assistant Tina had quite a busy week last week! They had two major installs, both of which we’re excited to tell you about! One was interior and one was exterior, so today we’re sharing the exterior one! With the lovely weather we had over the weekend, it just seems appropriate to keep up the spirit of outdoor entertaining…
This beautiful outdoor oasis is open, breezy, and (of course) weather proof! Todd picked all of the furniture from a couple of our favorite outdoor lines: Lee Industries and Summer Classics. It all blends together so perfectly!
All of the custom detail (like the custom banding on the bottom of the dining chairs, and the specially made drapery hardware) make this space interesting and personal as well as beautiful.
Gorgeous outdoor fabrics from Perennials (notice the contrast fabrics on the white arm chairs!), Nomi, Donghia, and Dedar add just the perfect amount of color and texture…
After a hard day’s work, these clients were ready to throw an amazing outdoor soiree!
Do you remember us talking about “The Cabin” a couple of times before? Well, we’ve moved onto the next phase of this beautiful project of Lisa’s and wanted to share the progress with you!
You’ve seen a few snapshots of fabrics and other selections in the older posts about this project, but now that actual walls are up and things are really starting to take shape, we’re all getting really excited about the finished product!
Reclaimed wood, gorgeous carpentry, great stains and other selections, and just great overall design make this place ultra cozy, even if it is only halfway done!
We even ran into some sweet little pups on the way back from The Cabin!
We had to stop and take pictures… They were just too adorable!
We will continue to keep you updated on this project as things progress! We cannot wait to show you the finished product!
We hope all of you are having a wonderful day filled with lots of cards, candy, and kisses!
We’re celebrating this happy occassion by oogling over all of the fantastic new inventory that came over to the floor yesterday! New LEE Industries upholstery, Hickory Chair upholstery and case pieces, Studio A Pottery, Vanguard and Mitchell Gold case pieces… And that’s just the beginning! Have a peek at some of the new beauties we’ve got!
That’s all for today! Stay tuned for tomorrow’s post with even more new and pretty stuff!
Lisa and Elish have a couple of room designs underway that are beautiful displays of texture and tone! All of the creams in one of the rooms come together beautifully to create a soft and very interesting palette. All of the different blues in the other room blend beautifully because of the different textures and patterns.
Stay tuned for pictures of these rooms later on as they start coming together!
Our ever-changing floor changed once more this week! We moved some things around, brought over some new items, and hung some new art! Take a peek at what you’ll find if you visit us in the next couple of days! (Remember: We sell straight off of our showroom floor, so if you see something you like, give us a call!)
Marty and team revamped the showroom last week and we’ve been dying to show you photos!! Sorry it’s taken us a couple of days to get these up! Take not of all the fabulous rug benches, new upholstery, new art, new pillows… Pretty much new EVERYTHING! We’ve got so many beautiful photos to show you that we’re breaking them into two posts. Here is PART ONE… 🙂
SummerHouse designer Elizabeth Gullett recently finished a project in Santa Rosa, Florida that we are all in love with! See what Elizabeth has to say about the challenges that the project presented and how she overcame those challenges. And check out these gorgeous photos!
I must say that this Santa Rosa Beach, Florida carriage house has been one of my most favorite projects yet. Not only was the location divine -with its ocean views, private pool and private beach access- but the client and I shared a unity of vision that made this project go incredibly smoothly! Right off the bat, Kay and I knew we were going to work great together. She’s as enthusiastic as I am, and there was so much to be excited about!
The Challenge: 1) To create a relaxing environment that was livable, fresh, and interesting, while easily accommodating guests ranging from grand-kids to business associates. One of the main issues we had to consider was the fact that this would be where Kay’s kids and grandkids stayed when they came to visit. So everything needed to be super durable, easy to clean, and all around super family friendly, with as much sleeping room as possible. 2) The carriage house needed to have a “chic” element about it as well, because (very fortunate) business associates and clients would be staying here occasionally. 3) The furnishings should direct attention outside toward the amazing views, and not steal it from them. 4) The carriage house should also flow smoothly from the main house (they are attached), and yet stand on it’s own two design feet.
The Solution: 1) This was accomplished with heavy duty fabric on a sleeper sofa, cleanable slipcovers on the chairs, and a darker wool rug downstairs. Wool is naturally stain-resistant, and the darker color makes it even more kid-friendly. The bar stools are made of a heavy-duty grey washed rattan – just wipe them clean! 2) A variety of carefully mixed finishes and washes brings an eclectic, yet sophisticated flair to the different case pieces in the house. The accessories-from classic, thick coffee table books to white coral on acrylic bases-add another layer of chic. The furniture is more rustic, while the accessories are more classic and elegant. 3) Furniture was arranged with each spectacular view as the focal point; every seat gets a good sightline to the ocean! 4) I chose a palette of crisp white, soothing greens and fresh blues- a classic beach palette, done in a slightly unexpected, dressier way. The blue was pulled from the main house, bringing a sense of cohesiveness.
“Not only was the location divine -with its ocean views, private pool and private beach access- but the client and I shared a unity of vision that made this project go incredibly smoothly!”
“A variety of carefully mixed finishes and washes brings an eclectic, yet sophisticated flair to the different case pieces in the house.”
The words we both kept using to describe the feeling we wanted for the house was “Non-beachy, beachy.” Sounds silly, but it fit. Clean, relaxed, sophisticated, and fresh, but with no wicker or “coastal” furniture to be found anywhere…a “different” type of beach house. Kay pretty much gave me free rein in the fabric and furnishing selection, and after the initial presentation didn’t change a thing. It was so affirming that she not only loved, but trusted, the entire vision!
Like I said, one of my most favorite projects yet. 🙂
We brought over LOTS of new stuff yesterday and today. Come check everything out! We have a long list of new Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams things (including a great charcoal gray Chester grouping!), some new Hickory Chair, a few great new pieces from LEE Industries, some OLY… There are so many new things, it is hard to remember them all!
